There are two ways to start an unlock request. The phone route is the faster of the two.

1. Call Tracfone Wireless at 1-877-654-9011 from a different phone. The hotline answers Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 11
   p.m. EST. A live agent picks up after the prepaid IVR menu.
2. Have your account PIN, IMEI, and the account holder name ready. Tracfone’s policy states that only the account holder can request an unlock, and the agent will verify all three before pulling up the line.
3. Tell the agent you want to use the handset unlock policy. They run the eligibility checklist, then either approve, deny, or escalate the request to a back-office team.

5. Save the code and the device-specific instructions. Tracfone sends different steps for iPhone vs Android. Keep both close until the unlock is verified.
