iOS 26
Everything we've published about iOS 26 — what's new, what broke, who can run it, and whether you should update yet.
Apple's 2025 iPhone OS, codenamed "Solstice". Shipped September 16, 2025. We've tested every dot-release on 18 devices. Current build: iOS 26.4.
In short.
iOS 26 is the September 2025 release. It brought a redesigned Lock Screen widget system, generative Siri rewrites, and the new Journal Pro features. It is the last release to support iPhone 12.
Most update friction in iOS 26 is around Apple Intelligence requirements (16GB iPhone only) and the Lock Screen widget migration that breaks third-party widgets from iOS 18.
If you have iPhone 13 or newer: update. iPhone 12: read our compatibility note below first.
