Niantic’s Adventure Sync documentation confirms that your phone tracks steps in the background using its built-in health app. You don’t need Pokemon GO open. Walking, commuting, and jogging all count toward egg hatching and buddy candy on both Apple Health and Google Fit.

Incense attracts wild Pokemon to you for 60 minutes. Lure Modules work at PokeStops.

These official methods won’t unlock region-locked Pokemon or let you raid gyms in Tokyo from your couch. But they cut down on traveling significantly, and your account stays completely safe with zero risk of strikes or bans from Niantic’s enforcement team.

#Location Spoofing Tools That Still Work

Dedicated GPS tools work better than TweakBox for spoofing on your own device. Use at your own risk.

#Tenorshare iAnyGo (iOS)

Tenorshare iAnyGo is a desktop app for Windows and Mac that changes your iPhone’s GPS location without jailbreaking. It connects via USB and has a joystick for simulating natural walking movement, which helps avoid the sudden teleportation jumps that get flagged by Niantic’s anti-cheat system.

We tested it on an iPhone 14 Pro. The movement looked more natural than the old TweakBox mod.

Install the app on your computer, plug in your iPhone, select joystick mode, and drag the speed slider to set your walking pace. The whole setup takes under 3 minutes.

#Mock Location Apps (Android)

No computer needed. Niantic scans for mock location settings though, so hiding developer options takes effort.

#PGSharp (Android)

PGSharp is a modified Pokemon GO client for Android with a built-in joystick, auto-walk, and customizable walking speeds. It gets regular updates, unlike TweakBox.

#How to Protect Your Pokemon GO Account

These steps help whether you use spoofing tools or stick to legitimate play:

1. Don’t teleport across continents. Appearing in Tokyo 5 minutes after being in New York triggers Niantic’s cooldown detection for impossible travel speeds. Wait at least 2 hours before jumping to a distant location, or you’ll get a soft ban where Pokemon flee and PokeStops stop responding.

2. Avoid modded clients entirely. Apps like the old TweakBox mod carry modified signatures that Niantic detects on connection.

3. Turn off mock location indicators. On Android, disable the “mock locations” notification.

4. Don’t stack risky behaviors. Running a spoofed location alongside an auto-catch bot multiplies your ban risk significantly, and Niantic’s systems are specifically tuned to detect combinations of cheating tools running simultaneously on the same account.
