Txtempire supports anonymous texting to numbers in the US, UK, Canada, and several European countries with no registration needed and minimal ads. The character limit is 160 per message, and we sent test messages to three different countries that all arrived within 3 minutes.

#Are Anonymous Messages Actually Anonymous?

Mostly, but not completely. Every anonymous messaging platform logs some data about senders. Your IP address and the timestamp of each message are typically recorded.

Got a text from a number you don’t recognize with no caller ID information? It might be from an anonymous messaging platform. Look for these signs: the sender’s number appears as a random 5-6 digit shortcode, there’s no reply option, or the text includes a footer with a platform name.

On iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Filter Unknown Senders to separate these from regular texts. Android users can tap the three-dot menu in Messages and enable spam protection. If you keep getting unwanted messages from unknown senders on dating apps or messaging platforms, blocking the number usually stops them.

Forward the message to 7726 (SPAM) on most US carriers to report it.
