Your iPhone shares location data with apps, contacts, and Apple services by default. You can turn all of that off in under a minute, or selectively hide it from specific people or apps without disabling everything.

Don’t use spoofing or sharing toggles to deceive partners, employers, courts, schools, law enforcement, or app safety systems. Doing so can violate app terms of service and trigger legal consequences under state stalking statutes or consumer protection law.

Hiding your location also does not block Emergency SOS or 911 location, which iPhones transmit to first responders regardless of your Location Services settings. Always start with official Apple controls in Settings, Find My, and per-app permissions before reaching for any third-party tool.

Steps:

1. Download a VPN app from the App Store (NordVPN, ExpressVPN, or Mullvad all work).
2. Open the app and connect to a server in your preferred location.
3. Your IP-based location now appears as the VPN server’s city.

Important limitation: A VPN doesn’t spoof GPS coordinates. Apps like Find My, Google Maps, or Snapchat that use your iPhone’s actual GPS will still show your real location. VPN is useful for masking location from websites and browser-based tracking only.

#Can You Use Another iPhone as Your Fake Location?

If you want your contacts in iMessage and Find My to see a fixed location while you’re elsewhere, a second iPhone can broadcast a static position.

Steps on the second iPhone:

1. Open Settings and tap your Apple ID name at the top.
2. Tap Find My.
3. Toggle on Use This iPhone as My Location.

Now anyone tracking you via Find My or iMessage will see the second iPhone’s location, not yours. As long as the second phone stays in one place, your visible position stays fixed.
